MEET JO...

Jo has always been a creative misfit, with art and music being a major part of her life from an early age. While her journey initially led her to train as a classical singer in London, life took a series of turns that led her on a different path, living in Sydney, Australia.

Now happily in her forties, after a successful career in the marketing and events industry, Jo has rediscovered her love for art. Spending more time than ever in her Sydney home, with a paintbrush in hand and pouring her energy into creating. You can find her work exhibited at major art fairs and small galleries in Sydney and Brisbane.

ART

Jo is a self-taught artist and children's book author and illustrator, originally from the UK. She brings a vibrant and joyful energy to her work, using acrylics to create minimalist tropical scenes bursting with colour. Inspired by the beauty of a world untouched by humans, Jo often depicts exotic animals such as leopards, elephants, and zebras, in unusual locations, capturing their essence in a bold yet simplistic style.

Jo has a passion for capturing the simple life through simplistic and calming beach scenes, featuring famous beach pools from the Australian coast and painting glorious old school beach shacks.

CHILDREN'S
BOOKS

Inspired by a life-changing trip swimming with humpback whales in Tonga in 2020, Jo has brought her experience to life through her debut story, 'Mafu the Whale.' She's not only the author but also the illustrator and composer of an audio songbook that accompanies the tale. 'Mafu the Whale' aims to inspire the next generation to believe in themselves, sing out, and chase their dreams. To learn more about the book, click here.
