Bird Song — Fairy-wren Collection
A little chorus of colour.Bird Song is a collection of four original paintings inspired by Australia’s much-loved fairy-wrens.
These tiny birds are brought to life in vibrant shades of blue, violet and pink, each perched against a playful geometric checkerboard. I wanted to capture the cheeky character and beautiful colouring of these familiar little Australian birds, while giving them a contemporary, almost graphic quality.
The combination of hand-painted birds, bold geometric pattern and unexpected colour creates a collection that feels playful, joyful and distinctly Australian.
Each painting is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas and presented in a natural timber frame. At just 18 × 18 cm, they are little artworks designed to be collected—a single fairy-wren on its own, or a whole flock together.
