Jo Horsley x Pillow Talk: Bringing Art Into Australian Homes

One of the highlights of my artistic journey has been collaborating with Australia's beloved homewares brand, Pillow Talk.

As an independent artist, there is something incredibly special about seeing your work move beyond the gallery wall and into people's homes. When Pillow Talk approached me to create an exclusive collection, it felt like a wonderful opportunity to share my art with a much wider audience while staying true to the playful, colourful style that defines my work.

For this collaboration, Pillow Talk selected two of my original artworks: Pink Leopards Lounging and Moroccan Leopard with Love. Both pieces capture my love of bold colour, minimalist composition, and exotic animals placed in unexpected settings. These themes have become a signature of my work, inspired by a fascination with the natural world and a desire to create art that feels joyful, uplifting and a little bit whimsical.

Seeing these artworks reproduced as large-scale framed canvas pieces was a proud moment. The collaboration allowed my paintings to reach homes across Australia, introducing new audiences to my work and proving that original artistic ideas can find a place within everyday interiors.

As a self-taught artist based in Sydney, opportunities like this remind me how far a creative journey can take you. What began as a passion for painting has led to exhibitions at major art fairs, the publication of children's books, and now a partnership with a nationally recognised homewares brand.

I am incredibly grateful to the team at Pillow Talk for supporting Australian artists and creating opportunities for original artwork to be discovered by new collectors. Collaborations like this help bridge the gap between art and interior design, making beautiful, meaningful pieces more accessible to a broader audience.
