Turning Art Into Water: My MOSS Deck Art Show Experience

On 28 February 2026, I was thrilled to be part of the MOSS Deck Art Show at Brooky Surf Club in Brookvale — an incredible event where art, skate culture and community came together for a cause that truly matters.
For this exhibition, artists were invited to transform skateboard decks into one-of-a-kind artworks, with 100% of proceeds helping fund clean water projects in Eswatini, Africa.
As someone who normally paints on canvas, creating artwork on a skateboard deck was a refreshing challenge. The curved surface forced me to think differently about composition and design, while still staying true to the colourful, playful style that runs throughout my work.

What I love most about events like this is the power of art to create impact beyond the studio. Every deck in the exhibition represented not just creativity, but the opportunity to help provide something life-changing: access to clean water.
I was delighted when my skateboard artwork sold during the exhibition. Knowing that the sale would contribute directly to MOSS Foundation's water projects made the experience even more meaningful.
The night itself was a fantastic celebration of creativity, bringing together local artists, collectors, surfers, skaters and supporters from across Sydney's Northern Beaches. It was inspiring to see so many people come together around a shared purpose.
A huge thank you to the MOSS Foundation team for inviting me to be involved, and to the collector who gave my skateboard artwork a new home.

Because sometimes art can do more than decorate a wall — it can help change lives.
